Have to say though, each one of them will make you cry and feel something emotional. I feel like the production design and score for the 1994 Little Women was actually the best of the both but everything else from the directing, to acting and editing, the 2019 was better.
They both portrayed their character beautifully. Plus, the inclusion of those writing scenes made it even better unlike the 1994 version where we hardly see Jo write.Ĭrazy enough, Kristen Dunst and Florence Pugh were just amazing as Amy. Her Jo was more believable and a joy to watch.
I have to say, while I like Wynonna Rider performance as Jo, Saoirse Ronan took it to another level.
One feels like a Rom-com while the other coming of age but both are equally good.Īlthough I have to give credit to Greta Gerwig, she was able to remake and even improve the story to her benefit in the latest version. So, after watching the 2019 version, I decided to watch the 1994 own.
